Root Shoot Spirits is releasing two new, first-ever 6-Year American Single Malt whiskies: a 6-Year Single Barrel American Single Malt Whiskey and a 6-Year Small Batch Bottled-in-Bond American Single Malt Whiskey, now available for very limited distribution in Colorado and nationwide.
“These whiskies represent more than six years in a barrel,” said Todd Olander, Root Shoot’s founder and farmer. “They represent 100 years of our family farming this land and 10 years of Root Shoot Malting. Every bottle starts with barley we grow and malt ourselves, so being able to release both these whiskies during such a milestone year is incredibly special.”
6-Year Single Barrel American Single Malt Whiskey (61.5% ABV, 123 Proof): This limited release celebrates 10 years of Root Shoot Malting and features original label artwork by local Loveland artist Mallory Cash. The artwork captures the view of Longs Peak from the malthouse window, the same view that has inspired Root Shoot for the past decade.
At 123 proof, this Single Barrel is a bold expression of the place, landscape, and agricultural roots behind Root Shoot Spirits. Aged in first-use medium char american white oak barrels for six years, it builds on the character of Root Shoot’s 4-year American Single Malt. Fewer than 50 bottles will be available online at Root Shoot (750ml, SRP $89.99).
6-Year Small Batch Bottled-in-Bond American Single Malt Whiskey (50% ABV, 100 Proof): Root Shoot’s first-ever 6-Year Bottled-in-Bond release celebrates 100 years of Olander Farms, where the grain behind Root Shoot’s award-winning craft malt and nationally recognized American Single Malt whiskey is sown, grown and malted.
This limited small batch whiskey is distilled from barley grown on the Olander family’s permanently conserved farm in Loveland, Colorado and commemorates a century of agricultural stewardship. Root Shoot’s Bottled-in-Bond whiskey was blended from five select barrels of 6-Year American Single Malt for a layered, balanced expression at 100 proof (750ml, SRP $84.99, 60 bottles available online).
