Glenmorangie has released a limited-edition Highland single malt Scotch whisky co-created with actor Harrison Ford, reflecting the Hollywood star’s personal flavor preferences. The Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition goes on sale May 4, 2026, at select UK retailers, glenmorangie.com, and the distillery visitor center at an RRP of £75.

The release marks the latest collaboration between Ford and the Highland distillery, which began when the actor filmed Glenmorangie’s advertising campaign, Once Upon a Time in Scotland.

Ford developed the whisky alongside Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden MBE. The pair worked together at the distillery and exchanged samples across the Atlantic over several months to fine-tune the final recipe.

The limited edition unites classic bourbon cask-aged Glenmorangie with a parcel of rare whisky finished in toasted Portuguese red wine casks. The result contrasts Glenmorangie’s signature elegant style with what the brand describes as an intriguing, tangy character.

Official tasting notes from the brand describe zesty citrus notes dancing across the palate, complemented by sweet hints of muscovado sugar, apricot, and butter candy. The finish is long, reminiscent of orange oil, leather, and oak tannin.

Ford gave the whisky his trademark understated approval. “It’s nice. It’s very nice,” the actor said.

“I loved my time at Glenmorangie, and have enormous respect for the team at the Distillery. They are true craftspeople,” Ford explained. “Collaborating with Dr. Bill was a real treat — a chance to get inside the mind of a maker who combines art and science to create incredible single malt Scotch whisky.”

“We tasted many casks together on our search for a Glenmorangie that would speak to my taste,” he continued. “Truth be told, I liked a lot of them — but the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is everything I want in a whisky. I’m immensely proud of our creation.”

Dr. Bill Lumsden recalled the creative process behind the bottling. “We knew Harrison was a whisky lover even before he arrived at Glenmorangie — so I was thrilled to make him an honorary member of our Whisky Creation Team as we went about creating his very own whisky,” he said.

“In keeping with our signature style — and Harrison’s — the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is very elegant, and smooth,” Lumsden added. “But since Harrison also likes his whisky with a little bite, we layered classic bourbon casks with the tang and structure of toasted Portuguese red wine casks.”

Lumsden described the flavor profile in further detail. “You’ll taste all the hallmark Glenmorangie notes of honeysuckle, citrus, and buttery softness, countered by a marmalade edge and grippy tannins. This whisky is timeless and endlessly surprising… much like Harrison himself.”

A new episode in the Once Upon a Time in Scotland advertising series accompanies the launch. Directed by Joel Edgerton and filmed in Ford’s home state of Wyoming, the spot shows the actor tasting the limited edition on camera for the first time, after which he gives a characteristic quip of “It’s nice. It’s very nice.”

Glenmorangie also commissioned acclaimed artist Julien Rico to create an official Hollywood-style movie poster for the release. The artwork appeared across London, including in Leicester Square.

Glenmorangie, which has been producing single malt Scotch whisky in the Scottish Highlands for over 180 years, is known for its use of the tallest stills in Scotland. The distillery’s stills stand at over 26 feet, a feature the brand credits with producing a smoother, more elegant spirit.
