Douglas Laing & Co. has released a limited edition Big Peat whisky specifically crafted for Fèis Ìle, the annual Islay Festival that draws whisky enthusiasts from around the globe. The independent bottler’s latest offering showcases the distillery’s commitment to celebrating Islay’s unique whisky heritage.
Fèis Ìle is now taking place, running from May 23rd until May 31st.
Big Peat Fèis Ìle Limited Edition 2025
The Big Peat Fèis Ìle Limited Edition features a 2010 vintage matured exclusively in hand-selected refill hogsheads. This small batch release delivers 40 parts per million (PPM) of peat and is bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration or added coloring.
The whisky presents classic Big Peat characteristics with layers of sweet smoke intertwined with salty, oceanic notes. It culminates in the brand’s signature smoky barbecue profile that has made Big Peat renowned among Islay whisky fans.

Caol Ila Exclusive Single Cask Offering
Alongside the Fèis Ìle edition, Douglas Laing Chairman Fred Laing has selected a single cask Caol Ila distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2025. This rare release consists of just 150 bottles, each hand-numbered and personally signed by Laing.
The 14-year-old single malt was matured in refill hogshead casks and bottled at natural cask strength of 55.4% ABV. The expression delivers amplified notes of citrus, salted sweetness, nuttiness and oak.
“I love being involved in what we – and here I include Big Peat himself – select for his unique single cask releases,” Laing noted. “This particular cask ticked all our quality boxes – so much so that we decided to bottle it just before it reached 15 years old.”
The single cask release will be available exclusively on Islay during Fèis Ìle, whilst the Big Peat Fèis Ìle Limited Edition is available at select retailers, whisky specialists, and online with a suggested retail price of £70.00 (€84.00).
