Wild Turkey tells BourbonBlog.com that their decade-long Master’s Keep story closes with Beacon, a limited release built to honor the past while signaling what’s next.
At 118 proof, Master’s Keep Beacon blends two hand-picked bourbons and stands as the highest-proof entry of the series to date. It arrives this September in limited quantities worldwide for $300 a bottle.
The final Master’s Keep closes a decade-long series with a 118-proof blend that ties three generations together. Jimmy Russell set the foundation, Eddie Russell created the series in 2015, and now Bruce Russell adds his name for the first time with bourbon he helped make early in his career. Beacon isn’t just a release—it’s a family milestone.
Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell tells BourbonBlog.com, “This final release feels especially meaningful, as the first Master’s Keep with my signature on the bottle and made using bourbon I helped create during some of my earliest days at the distillery.”
What’s in the Glass
Beacon’s build bridges two eras of the distillery:
- A 16-year component (distilled 2007–2008) laid down at the original Wild Turkey distillery just before the 2011 expansion—classic heritage character and mature oak.
- A 10-year component (2015 distillation) from the early run of Bruce’s career—bringing vivid structure and energy.
Wild Turkey says to expect rich layers: dark fruit leading into honey, vanilla, and cola on the nose; caramelized sugar, toffee, tea, and warm baking spice on the palate; then a long, warming finish with seasoned oak and leather.
If you’ve tracked Master’s Keep across the years, this profile reads like a deliberate handshake between legacy depth and modern brightness.
“When we set out ten years ago to launch the Master’s Keep series, we knew we had something special but I never imagined the journey it would take us on,” Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell tells BourbonBlog.com. “Our first release was the most unique whiskey we’d ever released, and with each expression since we’ve been able to share some of the rarest whiskies in our rickhouses, all while staying true to who we are as Wild Turkey”
The Collector Moment (and Your Move)
Dating back to 2015, the Master’s Keep series was Eddie Russell’s platform for pushing Wild Turkey beyond its core lineup. Over the past decade it grew into one of bourbon’s most respected limited-edition collections, producing ten global releases: 17 Year, Decades, Revival, Cornerstone, Bottled in Bond, One, Unforgotten, Voyage, Triumph, and now the finale—Beacon.
Master’s Keep has been the canvas for boundary-pushing Wild Turkey releases—ten global chapters culminating here.
Beacon is positioned as the closing statement, priced as a limited $300 release with global distribution.
