Tormore has announced its first official release since acquisition by family-run Elixir Distillers, introducing the Blueprint series of three limited-edition 10-year-old single malt scotch whiskies. The collection, available globally from June, marks a significant milestone for the Speyside distillery under its new ownership.

Each expression in the Blueprint series showcases different maturation techniques, with 1,500 bottles available for each variant. The trio includes whiskies aged in Bourbon Barrel, Toasted Barrel, and Cream Sherry casks, all bottled at 48% ABV with an RRP of £59.95.

    Bringing Tormore Back To Life

Founded in 1959, Tormore was originally designed to produce elegant, fruit-forward spirits. The distillery experienced various ownership changes over the decades, alternating between community-focused approaches and industrial efficiency models. Under Elixir Distillers’ stewardship, traditional production methods have been restored to enhance the whisky’s renowned fruit character.

“We are incredibly excited to offer our Tormore Blueprint to market,” said Polly Logan, Tormore Distillery Manager. “This is a first step in showcasing our wonderful spirit and giving a sneak preview of our future Tormore bottlings – and we are so proud of the whisky.”

The Blueprint series serves as more than a product launch, functioning as a marker for Tormore’s future direction and a conversation starter ahead of the brand’s anticipated full launch in 2026.

    Tormore Blueprint Bottlings

The Bourbon Barrel expression features first-fill casks that contribute light caramel and coconut notes, complementing the new-make spirit’s characteristic pear, nectarine, and walnut flavours. This creates profiles reminiscent of custard, biscuits, and peach tart, representing what Elixir describes as the core of future Tormore releases.

The Cream Sherry Cask variant utilises barrels that previously held the historically popular sherry style. These casks deliver residual sugars from Pedro Ximénez alongside signature dried fruit and orange peel flavours, adding warmth to Tormore’s balanced, fruit-forward character.

The Toasted Barrel expression employs virgin American oak barrels crafted specifically to Tormore’s specifications. The long, slow toast and medium char process enhances the extraction of water-soluble compounds like vanillin while building soft rye spice and caramel notes.

    Elixir Distillers & Blueprint Launch

Elixir Distillers, owned by brothers Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh, acquired Tormore from Pernod Ricard in 2022. The Blueprint bottlings will be available through specialist retailers and selected on-trade establishments worldwide.
