The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has unveiled its 2025 Festival Collection, featuring seventeen limited-edition whiskies to mark Scotland’s annual whisky festivals. The launch also coincides with the release of Independent Spirits, a new documentary that spotlights the importance of independent bottlers in the scotch whisky industry.

The SMWS 2925 Festival Collection includes true single cask and ultra small batch expressions, alongside the debut of The Wandering, a blended malt whisky composed of spirit from five scotch whisky regions. This marks a first for the international members club and independent bottler.

    Celebrating Scotland’s Regional Heritage

Scotland’s Scotch Whisky Festivals, held annually across regions including Speyside, Islay, and Campbeltown, showcase the distinct whisky-making traditions of each area. These month-long celebrations attract whisky enthusiasts from around the world through special distillery events and limited-edition releases.

“Although not affiliated with a single region, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society has long played an important role in the Festival season by hosting exclusive member gatherings across the United Kingdom and the United States and releasing Festival bottlings,” says Ben Diedrich, Senior Director, USA, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. “This year’s Festival Collection invites members to not only taste something exceptional but also to see the spirit of independence in action. Each whisky has been specially selected to reflect the flavor, diversity, and storytelling potential of scotch whisky at its most adventurous.”

We’re thrilled to blend the artistry of whisky with the creative world of film,” added Ben Diedrich.
