Sazerac Company has launched an extraordinary fundraising initiative to support California wildfire relief efforts, featuring the first-ever single barrel of Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old bourbon ever made available for purchase.
The campaign, running from February 11-23, aims to raise funds for World Central Kitchen (WCK) and Another Round Another Rally, two organizations providing critical support to communities affected by the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
“Our hearts break for those who have been impacted by the devastating wildfires that have swept across California this year,” said Jake Wenz, President and CEO of Sazerac. “The fires have caused immense destruction, and the toll on the Los Angeles community is profound. Through this program we hope, humbly, to offer a small bit of aid to World Central Kitchen and Another Round Another Rally as they continue their much-needed support of the California community during this difficult time.”
Historic Bourbon Offerings
The centerpiece auction features a single barrel of Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old, specially selected from Buffalo Trace Distillery‘s warehouses, yielding approximately 125 bottles. Bidding starts at $10,000, with increments of $1,000.
Two additional sweepstakes complete the fundraiser: a complete set of the Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Collection and a bottle of the ultra-rare Eagle Rare 25, the oldest expression ever released in the Eagle Rare portfolio.
The Pappy Van Winkle Collection features six distinct bourbons, including expressions ranging from 10 to 23 years old, while the Eagle Rare 25 represents a groundbreaking achievement in bourbon aging, being the first bourbon aged in the purpose-built Warehouse P. Profits from the Pappy collection sweepstake will benefit WCK, and the Eagle Rare 25 Year Old sweepstake profits will go to Another Round Another Rally.
For each sweepstake, participants receive one entry per $50 donated, with no maximum donation limit. Winners receive a monetary prize matching their prize’s value, which they can use to purchase their bottles.
Relief Efforts Impact
The fundraiser responds to devastating wildfires that have destroyed over 16,000 structures and affected 50,000 acres in Los Angeles communities since early January. WCK has already served more than 600,000 meals through partnerships with over 80 restaurants and food trucks.
Another Round Another Rally has distributed over $100,000 in financial assistance to affected hospitality workers, providing crucial support to bar and restaurant staff facing business and income losses.
