Redbreast has unveiled a powerful new limited release that celebrates 20 years since the beloved Redbreast 15 Year Old first joined the Irish whiskey family. The Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength arrives bottled at natural strength and crafted from just 15 specially selected casks.
The world’s most awarded Single Pot Still Irish whiskey brand introduced this small-batch expression to honor both heritage and the sustained popularity of Redbreast 15 since its 2005 launch. Originally released as a one-off bottling, Redbreast 15 Year Old proved so popular that it earned permanent placement in the core range.
Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength
This cask strength edition delivers the signature Redbreast profile at 56.3% ABV. The whiskey showcases bright citrus notes, herbal undertones, and lively spice character alongside familiar dried fruit and toasted oak flavors, according to official tasting notes from the distillery.
Master Blender Dave McCabe selected exactly 15 casks for this expression as a deliberate tribute to the whiskey’s age statement. The marriage combines liquid matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks, staying true to the distillate-driven style that has defined Redbreast for decades.
“This release is a celebration of everything Redbreast 15 Year Old represents — heritage, craftsmanship, and character,” McCabe said. “Bottling it at natural cask strength allows the whiskey to fully showcase its complexity and vibrancy. Selecting 15 casks for this expression was a meaningful choice, connecting the whiskey’s age to its creation story.”
Celebrating A Legacy Expression
The limited edition will launch exclusively through MidletonDistilleryCollection.com on June 11th at 12pm, priced at approximately €130. Each bottle carries a batch stamp marking its place as part of this single-release, one-off edition.
Master Blender Emeritus Billy Leighton reflected on the original Redbreast 15’s journey from intended one-time release to permanent portfolio member: “When Redbreast 15 was first created it was intended to be a one-time release. Its overwhelming success led it to become a permanent part of our portfolio. This cask strength edition captures the spirit of that original moment — delivering a whiskey that is both deeply familiar and thrillingly new. It’s a bold tribute to our fans and a reminder that every batch, like every Redbreast, has its own unique personality.”
The launch aligns with Redbreast’s global “Quite the Find” campaign, which celebrates discovering hidden gems. This theme recently gained visibility through partnerships with actor Andrew Scott and the Redbreast Unhidden short film award at SXSW.
Redbreast fans often appreciate subtle batch variations, making this rare cask strength expression particularly appealing to collectors and enthusiasts. The limited nature ensures each bottle represents a unique moment in Redbreast’s continuing story.
The Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength reinforces the brand’s commitment to both innovation and tradition, offering longtime fans a bold new way to experience a cherished expression while maintaining the character that made the original so successful.
