Heaven Hill Distillery has announced Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey as the legendary brand’s new signature expression. The release comes 155 years after the trademark honoring John E. Fitzgerald, the brand’s namesake, was first introduced in 1869.

The new bourbon builds on the success of the beloved Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond Decanter Series that launched in 2018. Heaven Hill positions this 7-year-old bourbon as more accessible to both new and existing fans of the brand, with retail pricing at approximately $59.99 per 700ml bottle.

Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond

Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond maintains the brand’s signature wheated bourbon profile. The 100-proof expression uses a mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley. The liquid ages for seven years in Level 3 charred new American oak barrels.

Tasting notes describe bright copper coloring with graham crackers and honey aromas. The palate delivers fresh bread, brown sugar, and baking spices, while the finish features brown sugar and cinnamon sweetness that fades to oak.

“Seven years proved to be a sweet spot for a whiskey that already transcends expectations for a wheated bourbon,” said Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll. “This refined bourbon carries the same layered elegance its longer-aged sibling made famous, and the same commitment to excellence found in every bottle from Heaven Hill Distillery.

“It was pulled from the barrels at just the right time to appeal to a wide array of palates, making it the ideal Bourbon for a new generation of Old Fitzgerald fans.”

Refreshed Packaging & The ‘Bottled-in-Bond’ Identity

Heaven Hill redesigned the packaging to balance the brand’s historical appeal with contemporary aesthetics. The newly refreshed logo prominently features “Your Key to Hospitality” on the label and blown into the bottle’s base. This phrase appeared in many vintage advertisements and has remained part of the brand’s identity since the late 1800s.

The Old Fitzgerald wordmark appears in red diagonal lettering, matching the original 1884 trademark design. Elegant fluting on the bottle shoulder and diamond-faceted closure pay homage to the legendary 1950s diamond Decanter Series.

Each bottle displays “Bottled-in-Bond” on the lower label and notes the distillation season and year on the neck wrap. This approach emphasizes quality and transparency, reflecting Heaven Hill’s position as the owner of more Bottled-in-Bond brands than any other distiller.

An Iconic Legacy & A Bright Future

Heaven Hill Executive Chairman Max Shapira emphasized the personal connection to the brand’s history.

“This is a brand that’s near and dear to my heart. I remember some of the early ads the brand is now harkening back to – and what makes me most proud is that throughout decades of changes, Old Fitzgerald has stood the test of time and maintained its unwavering commitment to quality,” said Heaven Hill Executive Chairman Max Shapira.

“It mirrors my family’s story in many ways, having emigrated to the U.S. around the same time the Old Fitzgerald brand was just starting out. It was even sold on steamships traveling to Europe and clubhouses, survived Prohibition, and eventually made its way into the Heaven Hill family. Today, we’re sharing Old Fitzgerald’s story, legacy and quality with a new generation of Whiskey lovers who will experience the key to hospitality.”

Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond will launch with a series of partnerships and experiences celebrating hospitality expressions. The bourbon will be available at retailers, restaurants, bars, and hospitality venues nationwide beginning early summer 2025.
