Hollywood legend Harrison Ford has unveiled Glenmorangie Highland single malt Scotch whisky as the Official Whisky of Formula 1 in a characteristically understated announcement, describing the partnership with a simple “Nice.”

The decade-long collaboration between the Scottish distillery and the world’s premier motorsport series launches this weekend at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, marking a union between two brands that have dominated their respective fields for generations.

Glenmorangie F1 Partnership Celebrates Shared Heritage

The partnership represents a natural alignment between Glenmorangie’s 180-year whisky-making tradition and Formula 1’s 75th anniversary season. Both organizations have built their reputations on innovation and excellence, with Glenmorangie operating Scotland’s tallest stills to create what it describes as the world’s most awarded Highland single malt.

Ford, who stars in Glenmorangie’s “Once Upon a Time in Scotland” campaign, revealed the partnership in a new short film that maintains his trademark dry humor. The actor’s involvement adds star power to a collaboration that forms part of a broader 10-year agreement between Formula 1 and LVMH, Glenmorangie’s parent company.

The timing of the announcement at Silverstone carries particular significance. The British circuit hosted the first official Formula 1 World Championship race in 1950, making it an appropriate venue to launch a partnership that celebrates both brands’ storied histories.

Glenmorangie F1 Experiences Launch at British Grand Prix

This weekend’s British Grand Prix will feature the first of many planned fan experiences throughout the 2025 Formula 1 season. Visitors to Silverstone can view the Eagle Speedster Jaguar E-Type featured in Ford’s Glenmorangie campaign film and recreate scenes by sitting in the classic car.

The activation will also showcase Glenmorangie cocktails, though the distillery emphasizes its strong advocacy for alcohol-free driving. The partnership activities are designed to highlight what both companies describe as their shared commitment to craftsmanship and performance.

“I am thrilled to set in motion Glenmorangie’s landmark partnership with Formula 1 – the pinnacle of motor racing,” said Caspar MacRae, President and CEO of Glenmorangie. “We share with F1 a great pride in our heritage and an unstoppable desire to reach new heights of excellence.”

Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer at Formula 1, welcomed Glenmorangie to the Moët Hennessy portfolio of Formula 1 partners, noting the brands’ “mutual respect for tradition” and shared “commitment to refinement and perfection delivered over time.”

The partnership announcement did not include specific financial details or information about which Glenmorangie expressions will be featured at Formula 1 events. The collaboration is expected to continue throughout Formula 1’s anniversary season and beyond, with additional activations planned at races worldwide.
