Green River Distilling Co., Kentucky’s 10th oldest licensed distillery, is set to release a commemorative bourbon celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. The limited edition whiskey will be available starting next month and throughout the coming year.
The special release honors the U.S. Army’s establishment on June 14, 1775, which predates the Declaration of Independence signing. Green River’s own history includes longstanding connections to the armed forces, with a legacy of service, craftsmanship, and national pride spanning generations.

The commemorative bourbon debuts on June 14, 2025, bottled at 111.1 proof (55.55% ABV), a deliberate nod to Veterans Day (November 11). Priced at $49.99, this small batch selection features 4- to 7-year-old barrels with a mashbill of 77% corn, 14% rye, and 9% malted barley.
The full-bodied Kentucky bourbon showcases notes of caramel, black cherry, cocoa, and peppermint, with a rich mouthfeel of toffee and toasted oak leading to a lightly spiced, bold finish.
“This whiskey is a salute to 250 years of courage, commitment and sacrifice,” said Col. (ret.) Mark Erwin, CEO of Green River’s parent company, Lofted Spirits. “As both a veteran and a leader in American whiskey, it’s an honor to raise a glass to the U.S. Army and the millions who have served to defend the freedom we cherish.”
Supporting Military Families
A portion of the proceeds will directly benefit soldiers and their families, enhancing quality of life through wellbeing, sports, fitness, libraries, entertainment, and recreation programs.
Lofted Spirits regularly contributes to charitable causes supporting the Armed Forces, including The Special Operations Warrior Foundation, the Special Operations Fund, USA Cares, and the Bardstown-Nelson County Veterans Memorial.
The limited edition will be available at select military bases, Green River’s locations in Owensboro and Louisville, and at select retail and online stores nationwide.
Presented in Green River’s iconic horseshoe bottle but featuring Army colors and historical elements, this expression celebrates the deep connection between America’s military and one of its most historic whiskeys.
