Nestled in the former whisky capital of the world, Campbeltown, Scotland, lies the small distillery of Glen Scotia. Campbeltown is recognized as one of the Scotch Whisky Regions, even though it is home to only three distilleries today. Known for promoting its heritage, much of the original equipment designs are in use or has an influence on production today. These designs date back to the 1830s, when production began. The aim is to follow the “footsteps” of the original distillers.

    The Scotch
Glen Scotia 10 Year is a good introduction to the Glen Scotia line. The whisky is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks to give it the charred oak, vanilla, and brown sugar flavors. Glen Scotia is bottled at a welcoming 40% ABV.

    Color: Light Bronze

The nose begins with strong notes of green apple and lemon citrus. It then opens up to notes of orange marmalade, ginger spice, and sea salt. The palate takes those apple, lemon, and orange citrus notes and adds a touch of brown sugar, oak, and caramel. The finish is long with lingering spices, citrus, and some oakiness.

    The Price
Glen Scotia 10 Year can be found for $70.
