Bardstown Bourbon Company tells BourbonBlog.com that its acclaimed partnership with Maison Ferrand continues with the release of a second Ferrand Cognac Finish, arriving nationwide in limited quantities August 29, 2025.
This collaboration follows the award-winning 2022 edition and, unlike that bourbon-only release, Ferrand Cognac Finish II deepens the marriage of Kentucky bourbon and French cognac by introducing Bardstown’s own rye whiskey into the blend for added spice and structure.
BourbonBlog.com has a history with Ferrand: previously we were invited to Maison Ferrand in Cognac, France, to experience firsthand the artistry of Alexandre Gabriel and his team.
That journey brought us inside the heart of Ferrand, where tradition, innovation, and passion for craft were unmistakable. (See photo from our travels at hte bottom of this story in front of Maison Ferrand)
Today, that same spirit is alive in this new collaboration with Bardstown Bourbon Company, making the release of Ferrand Cognac Finish II even more meaningful.

The rye component brings spice and structure, while the Cognac casks add richness and vibrancy. Expect decadent black cherry, toasted oak, vanilla cream, baked apple, pecan, raisin, and a subtle mint finish.
“Our friends at Maison Ferrand are true masters of their craft,” Dan Callaway tells BourbonBlog.com. “The addition of rye to this blend adds spice and structure, creating something both familiar and adventurous.”
Maison Ferrand’s owner Alexandre Gabriel tells BourbonBlog.com: “The beauty of this partnership is the meeting of two worlds. We share traditions, learn from each other, and push the boundaries. The result is something truly special, and you can taste it.”
Like its predecessor, this Ferrand collaboration has already been recognized as award-winning, further affirming Bardstown Bourbon Company’s innovative approach.
